More than just a versatile crossover, the new Ford Escape is all about having an option, and that goes for its internal motivation too. Under the hood, Most Escapes are powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine (181 horsepower, 190 pound-feet of torque) with cylinder-deactivation for improved efficiency and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Escape also offers a boost in performance and fuel economy via a 200-horsepower 2.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle hybrid engine, standard on Titanium and available for SE and SEL trim levels. Matched with an electrically variable-speed automatic transmission, it achieves an impressive 41 mg combined.
And if you're seeking a little more excitement for your Denver City TX commute, SEL and Titanium trim levels can equip the available turbocharged 2.0-liter power plant that makes a cool 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
